Get the feel of Microsoft Vista before the launch
Transform your existing Windows XP to the upcoming (mid of next year, probably) new operating system by Microsoft, Windows Vista , codename Longhorn. The patch doesn't really change your Windows XP system files, it just changes the icon, themes and add-on 'dock' (similiar to MacOS mouse over icon pop up thingy) on the desktop. The only thing i like about this transform is the "Recycle Bin" and the 'G' icon for Google Search ;-) Link to download and transform. Vista Inspirat BricoPack 1.0

Which free file hosting site to choose ?
I've been looking for free file hosting site, so that i'm able to send some large files to my friend without the need to send though MSN messenger and can download at his convenience. A comparison between the 2 free file hosting that i've found so far.
megaupload.com
- Maximum file size is 250 MB
- Download-limit: Limited, will get rejected if you download the second time on a same pc
- 45 seconds waiting time to download
- Need to enter email address to send the delete link to you
- Host your file forever for free, until it is unused for 30 days
- Quite confuse for first timer to upload, pop up ads
rapidshare.de
- Upload-limit: Unlimited (Max. 50 MB per file! Split-archives allowed!)
- Claims to have (7100 MBit/s up/down)
- Download-limit: Unlimited!
- 24 seconds waiting time to download
- Provides with a delete-link to delete your uploaded files
- Host your file forever for free, until it is unused for 30 days
- Clean website, easy to use
At last, i use filefront.com which is meant for gamers, it is user friendly, able to view files that have uploaded, create sub account and group and most of all, fast download speed!!

Who's your virtual girlfriend ?
This is really humorous, spoonfork describe it so well that got me laughing so hard... read on :-D
"I can’t live without her. She’s my LRT ride companion. I do a lot things on her, to her. She doesn’t complain. She doesn’t nag. Well, sometimes she got sick and ill and I have to fix her. She does not demand attention, but she has that kind of allure - she always make me touch her before I go to sleep, even though I am dead tired. I am with her 16 hours a day. Sometimes she acts funny, like the other day, she refused to response to whatever that I typed. I had to call tech support. I had to remove her battery and floppy disk drive. She’s very cool. But heavy on my shoulder sometimes. She’s great. She’s able to handle XP, VMWare, Visio, WinAmp, all at the same time. She never crushed on me or let me down. And she always let me know when she’s overworked. She the darling of my life.
Her name’s Charlene. She’s a DELL, with 1GH Intel Processor, 348 of RAM, and 10GB hard disk space. I dual-booted her between WindowsXP and RedHat 7.2.
Her name’s Charlene. She does not demand much like the other girlfriends that I have had, but she is sure high maintenance. I spent every other week defragging her, cleaning her registry, arrangin files and stuff. In return, she looks sexier, meaner and leaner. Yes, Charlene is sexy.
She’s strong. She’s always updated. And no one is gonna get near my Charlene, cos see, she got all this software patches and upgrades, and I take great lengths to defend her against viruses. She’s great, my Charlene.
I get worried whenever she’s sick, or not feeling well. Yes we all have our ups and down, and I share mine with Charlene, and she shares hers with me. She’s a good listener, the best that I ever had. When she’s perky, she would suggest songs to listen to, or VCDs to watch. And we’ll do it together, Charlene on my lap. When she thinks that I don’t know much, she’d suggest whitepapers to read.
Oh my Charlene. We’ve been together for a year. You’ll always be my baby"

MSN Messenger contact delete checker tool
Came across this website http://msncheck.41m.com/ to check your list of MSN messenger contacts that have deleted or block you, before you can check it requires you to enter your full email address and password, although the site claims its not a hoax or spam, as an act of precaution, i wouldn't want to know who or even care who has deleted/block me.

Get mobile phones for a 8 tokens game!
There was this special event at the main atrium, a break dance performance on the stage, most of them are malays, i find it they are just copying those western style and wannabe cool. After the roadshow, went Carrefour, noticed there was a long queue along the walk way, in front of a row of cashier counter, shoppers were waiting in line to slot in their receipt hoping to win some prize like trip for 2 to Australia, Rice Cooker and some other stuff. The machine stated '1st ever in Malaysia' and how will the machine determine which is the winner or not? I would guess the machine detects the highest amount on a single receipt to determine which is the winner?! Anyhow... walked to this amusement center, there was this little kid playing Time Crisis with the support of a chair, so that he would reached the level of the screen, children these days are so exposed to the electronics games stuff instead of traditional games like tops (gasing), marble (guli). A crowd gathered in front of a game machine, inside it has real mobile phones units. For example, you press a button and spin in a row of numbers +1,+2,+3,-4,-3,-2; if you got +2, the carriage of mobile phone will go up 2 level from where it stops at, you need to perfectly reach the 7th level to drop off the mobile phone, its not cheap to play this game as it requires 8 tokens to play, which means RM4 for 2 spin chances. I saw winner's photo pasted on the screen of the game machine, those who just got lucky. All of the mobile phones are the latest model. Whaat a money making machine to me.

Digi EDGE
This weekend, i have to help out with office roadshow at Megamall Butterworth a.k.a Pacific. Its totally no way to get connected to internet when i am in the main atrium area, however the Digi sales guy was surfing all the way long, all because he is using Digi EDGE to connect, i tested out the connection speed, it somehow reaches close to 260mbps, as what that sales guy told me, Digi EDGE covers 90% of Malaysia, thats cool! The package is that you pay for RM99 a month for an unlimited connection, have to be a Digi Postpaid user, which means if you particularly use Digi Edge for connection and dont make any call, every month you still have to pay RM20 and on top of that you have to buy the SONY ERICSSON EDGE GPRS PC CARD model GC83 for laptops which cost close to 1000. Found out that if i hang out at Starbucks, i will get strong wireless signal from TIME Zone offered for free but the unfriendly Starbucks waitress force you to buy drinks and there is another good place to surf for free is at IS Cafe.

An awsome mydefcon meeting
As usual, the first Friday of the month is mydefcon meeting. This time around we held the meet at Northam Beach Cafe, 1st floor where they gave us access to a room facilitate with round table, chairs and air-conditioned,all thanks to tsinikal who won the first price of Wireless Surfing Competition organised by Gerakan at the same place. The venue is definately the perfect place for meeting. I felt this is the way mydefcon meeting should be as the past meeting we held, its either the place is noisy or there is no one paying attention about what the presenter would like to share. On that day, 6 of us were there, we get together and truly listen to the presenter on the topic of Securing your information during online especially when you log on to Streamyx Hotspot using SSH Tunnelling method. Personally, i find it very useful, as you might not know who will sniff your email login or online banking information during online. This is what i encounter at home, the Panda Antivirus detected ' Port Scan Attack '
